OJES
Osmania Journal of English Studies (OJES) is a UGC approved, annual, refereed journal published by the Department of English, Osmania University, Hyderabad. Started in 1962, OJES publishes both general and special numbers. The journal offers a forum for critical engagement with issues of academic and intellectual concern in the broad fields of literature and language studies.
OJES has brought out special issues on Shakespeare (1964), American Literature (1966), Indian Writing in English (1972), Indian Poetry in English (1977), Sarojini Naidu (1980), VS Naipaul (1982), DH Lawrence (1985), Chinua Achebe (2010), and English Language Studies (2016).
OJES (ISSN: 0474-8107) considers essays (3000-4000 words) and book reviews (700-1000 words) for publication. Submissions will be blind-refereed and may be checked with plagiarism software. (Please see Call for Papers and Submission Guidelines below for more information).

Subscription: Rs 200/ - per issue for individuals, Rs 450/- for institutions.

Essays submitted for consideration of publication in OJES should be accompanied by a 100-word abstract and a 50-word bio-note. Except on the title page, do not mention your name or institutional affiliation anywhere else in the essay.
Reviews should have a short title and should give complete publication details of the book under review, including number of pages and price.
Submissions should be sent only by email (english.ojes.ou@gmail.com). Unless otherwise specified by the Editors of the specific issue, submissions should conform to the guidelines of the MLA Handbook for Writers of Research Papers (7th edition), and should be formatted as follows:

Line spacing: Double. No extra space between paragraphs.

Page margins: 1inch on all sides (top, bottom, left, right)

Text alignment: Only left

Paragraph indentation: First line—half-inch from the left margin

Indented quotations (4 lines or more): One inch from the left margin

Citations: In-text; author-page number

Notes: Use endnotes sparingly, and only if unavoidable. Keep them short. Do not use footnotes.
Submissions received till 30 June will be considered for publication in that year’s issue.
